~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Gigi
Our beloved Gigi (nee Bold Maneuver) left us on March 24, 2015 eight days short of her tenth birthday. She was our first dog, and we miss her greatly.She was suffering with osteosarcoma and could barely walk. Yet she managed to go out each day and was the sweetest girl imaginable. Gigi was wonderful with us, our children and our grandchildren. She greeted everyone who visited by waving her beautiful tail and waited to see if they would play with her. She never jumped on people and everyone was delighted to play with her. It is difficult facing each day without our sweetheart.
Hazel aka Driven by Hazel
September 28, 2003-March 23, 2015
We are sad to say that our princess Hazel (Driven by Hazel) crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. An unexpected loss, she was never in pain and smiled until the end.
Our first greyhound, Hazel became my father’s best friend. They spent just about every day together for the past 8 years. Hazel took care of him and even in her last moments, her eyes never left his. Their days consisted of several walks, her barking for her food, for her treats, for her peanut butter, for her cookies, and eventually for him to go to bed. They were inseparable and neither was as happy as they were when together.
Never a shrinking violet, we will miss her sassiness and I will miss her barking at me until I could satisfy the task she was giving me. My mom will miss her favorite neckwarmer, and my sister will miss the barking love that always greeted her when she walked through the door.
Hazel changed all of our lives and we take comfort knowing that our Finn was waiting for her to continue their favorite game of cat and mouse up there on those clouds.
I would say we are heartbroken, but as I think about her, my heart feels full, and I know the rest of my family would say the same. She gave us so much and she will always be with us.
Thank you Patty and everyone at Greyhound Friends,
Bill, Judy, Courtney, and Deirdre Fagan & Michael Stewart
Jazz
Jazz, you were such a special family member, a big part of our lives. For the short time that you had us, you showed nothing but love and kindness. Never once did you beg for anything. You acted like a lady despite your wild, crazy brother, Jake. Everyone who met you, wanted to pet you. They would say how pretty looked. You would wag your tail and play bow until we would play with you. When you slept, you always had a smile on your face. Even though you were shy in front of the camera, occasionally you would give us some amazing photos. Car rides didn’t start out being a favorite of yours, however, that quickly changed once you realized that you would meet up with your furry friends to go for walks.
On March 16, 2015, we were not prepared to make a life changing decision about you. With dire news from your vet, we painfully, unselfishly decided to do what was best for you. While our hearts are broken, we know that you are pain free and running wild with Mark and Margarita now. We will all miss you, Jazzy girl; you took a piece of our hearts with you. We look forward to seeing you again, pretty girl!
All of our love and so much more, Marianne & Angel -- xoxoxo
Sassy
My sweet girl, Sassy, went to be with my Dad (8-30-14) in Heaven on December 22, 2014. I will never forget the day I picked my girl up from Greyhound Friends of NJ back in 2004. The woman who had bathed her before my arrival told me my girl was a "special" dog and that I would soon understand her words. Sassy was my one and only special girl. I have her ashes with me now and all of the precious memories we made together will remain in my heart forever. I love you, Sassy, and I can't wait to see you again, my sweet girl. Pat C. Fawne (Sassy) June, 2002-December 22, 2014.
Yours Forever, Sandy Wood
Mercedes Dream
12/02/2003 - 12/08/2014
On December 8th, with the deepest sadness I must announce the passing of the most wonderful dog/family member to osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Almost 3 years ago Mercedes picked us for her forever home at a meet & greet. She came right up to us and licked my grandson Devon on the face. Right then and there we knew she was the one. Knowing she was a senior we still had to have her. She had the best life in our home and she made our lives fuller and happier. I only wish we had more time with her. Saying goodby to this wonderful friend was the hardest thing I've had to do.
Love you and miss you so much Mercedes!!!!
Love, Mom, Dad, Kristen, Devon, LeeAnn, Matt, and Mimi.
