About JJ's Silly Sally

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: White and Fawn

JJ's Silly Sally is an absolutely adorable and stunning little girl.  She's very sweet and although slightly reserved at first, quickly warms up and is happy to interact and is friendly.  She is calm and walks great on leash.  She was described by the folks in Florida as "pretty, friendly but not nutsy"--we totally agree!  Silly Sally is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.

Foster Update 4/27/15

After two weeks with Sally, I can confirm that everything in her
description is true: initially reserved but friendly, calm
temperament, great leash manners, not to mention drop-dead gorgeous!
But what stands out most to me is Sally's loving and affectionate
personality. This sweet girl exudes a quiet loyalty and devotion that
will carry over to the lucky forever family who adopts her.  Her soft
brown eyes look straight into yours and melt your heart.  She loves
petting and massages and will stand next to you as long as you are
willing to oblige.  Like many greyhounds, she does the "greyhound
lean" with aplomb, but takes it 360 degrees by gradually angling
herself all around your legs so that after a minute she has come full
circle, eyeing you all the while so you can't resist returning all
that love!

Sally has adapted well to life in our home.  Housetraining is going
well, she has excellent house manners, she has learned to go up and
down the stairs, and gets along with our cat - she was once observed
wagging her tail while licking the cat on the head.  On our walks she
has met a number of other dogs of various sizes and breeds and has
been friendly and interested in all of them. Sally is generally
submissive and has never exhibited any aggression about anything.  I
am able to take food, toys and bones away from her without the
slightest objection on her part. She's also comfortable with body
handling and nail clipping.

Sally tends to be a bit nervous around unexpected noises or new
situations, but we have been working to build her confidence, and she
is no longer as reactive to things that originally scared her (like
the garage door going up). We have also been taking her to various
public places where she can experience new stimuli in a controlled and
supportive setting.  I think she would be happiest in a home with
another greyhound or other dog who can be the leader and show her the
ropes in her new environment.

In short, Sally's a well-behaved and loving girl who's ready to win
your heart and be your new best friend.
