Adoption Pending !

Wimpy is NOT Wimpy! He is really just still a puppy, not even 2 years old yet, so sometimes he just needs a second to realize everything is okay and then the tails wags and on he goes. After just a few days with his foster mom, it's clear he is a SUPER affectionate VERY sweet boy (not to mention clearly gorgeous). He puts his head on my lap and scrunches his eyes shut tight and just seems to soak in the loving. I am also trying to convince him he is not a lap dog! Housebreaking Wimpy is extremely easy, and is barely on my radar screen at all after just a few days. He has learned to negotiate stairs, is easily crated, loves toys and hard bones and the back yard. Wimpy is still inclined to investigate everthing with his mouth (like a toddler) but he is learning what belongs to him and what does not. Wimpy is not at all dominant, and is just average sized but he can be boisterous at play and of course hasn't learned all of the rules of appropriate greyhound behavior yet, so small children are not a good idea - it wouldn't be fair to either of them. Wimpy is a clean slate - a loving beautiful greyhound who never raced, who is looking for a forever home.

FOSTER UPDATE: After almost two weeks of fostering Wimpy, I can tell you for sure - this is one easy, fabulous dog. Extremely mellow and well-behaved for such a young boy, and SWEET, SWEET, SWEET, a total lovebug. I have sort of managed to convince Wimpy he is not a lap dog. I say "sort of" because the compomise is that he will put everything BUT his hind feet into my lap (so technically he is still on the floor!) and then wedge his nose between my neck and shoulder until his nose "snuffles" when he breathes, and then as I pet him, he stays like that until he starts to fall asleep! He is very hard to resist :) Wimpy loves his walks, and is wonderful on leash, like a little machine - one foot in front of the other, straight ahead and just keeps the pace. Wimpy attended a M&G with 55 girl scouts, volunteers, and their dogs, and behaved like a champ. I think Wimpy would do best if he is adopted to live with an already "established" greyhound, so he can continue to have greyhound company and a good example to follow, so he will just keep getting better and better!

Wimpy will be at Petco 25th St. Easton, Pa meet & greet on Saturday, March 21.
